The Supercard project was conceived some 10 years ago, its precursor being the National Students’ Identity Card project. The project has since inception, been nurtured with an investment of time, skill and funds in attaining its present status.

The company was incorporated in 2002, and commenced the pilot scheme in December 2002 in two higher institutions namely, University of Lagos and Yaba College of Technology. The project is a pioneering effort to provide the nation with a genuine and common identification for students in tertiary institutions in order to have an all-purpose welfare package for Nigerian students as an excellent solution to the problem of declining educational standards and values for a better society at large.

The core activity of the project is to generate a secure, credible and fail-safe information database and system that would be able to create and equally provide secure fraud/forge proof identification card for the students and staff of tertiary/higher institutions in Nigeria.

The company also offers products and services for the Government (Consortium for the Administration of Salaries and Pensions, CASP), Financial (Financial Data Repository FDR and SmartSave) and Public Sectors
